participants are those who use techniques and materials of the period from 1830-1865 to produce an authentic skill and craft of the era. The Children’s Pioneer Craft Village participant will start with authentic materials and explain how the product is made from start to finish while demonstrating and educating the public about your special skill. All demonstrators will be under cover in a tent provided by the AFK. You will need to designate how much space you require for your craft. All participants will be carefully screened and accepted according to adherence to the rules and to the need for a specific craft. You will be notified by postcard indicating your status in this year’s festival.  Demonstrators will earn $250, guaranteed, for participation in the two-day weekend. The AFK will purchase any supplies needed for your area. All supplies not used for the weekend are the property of the AFK. It will be the responsibility of each demonstrator to provide all helpers needed for their own area. Our goal is to educate and entertain. We require that each child have the opportunity to create the craft.
